Municipal government was great.

For a little more than a year and a half, I’ve been leading development for the City of Boston’s Digital Team. A team which is by the far the best team that I’ve worked with. A team which will be hard to top in the future.

Working for the City has easily been the best professional experience that I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of. Having spent years in professional services, I looked at working for the City as a pallete cleanser. It turned out to be far more fulfilling than I thought it would be.

As of today, I’m no longer leading development for the City of Boston’s Digital Team. The time to move on has come to move on. Life has a tendency to throw your curveballs. Sometimes they’re easier to deal with than others, and other times they require you to change your course. The latter has required our little family to seek flexibility where possible.

In these times, I’d encourage anyone who may be interested in working in local government to give it a shot. I may also happen to know of a great position opening up with a great team.
